I couldn't find a wig anywhere on the entire island of Oahu that was short and brown, or even short and black. The cost of shipping a $10 wig from online is ridiculous. And even if I was ok spending that much money... which I am, because I want this SO bad, it wouldn't get here in time for halloween.
My friend drove me to Kaneohe today in one last desperate shot at trying to find a wig. After some quick google-answer research I decided to buy a long blonde wig, and die it using RIT clothing dye. I had read all about it and figured why not! So we got the wig, and then drove even further to the nearest craft store, about 1 hour away from where I live on north shore. I'm super stoked to try out this little crafty project!
Step 1: The wig. Check.

Step 2: Fill trash can with hot water and dye. Submerge wig. Check.

Step 3: Stir for 30 minutes, and then let it soak for 2+ hours. Check.
Step 4: Take wig out of dye... Fail.

Step 5: Rinse wig out...Fail-er.

Step 6: Brush wig out...Fail-est.

It was the nastiest, dirtiest, most unsuccessful thing I have ever attempted. Emphasis on the "unsuccessful". I think that it ended up even lighter than before. So. I have a long, blonde wig. Un-dyed, and un-cut, and nowhere NEAR what I was hoping for.
I will be a blonde Dora the Explorer, I guess. That just doesn't make any sense at all.
Oh well, we found a better use for it anyway. Lucky Cassie, she is being harassed on this Halloween season because she watched Paranormal Activity and invited evil spirits into our unit. Jerk.

YOU ARE NEXT, CASSIE!
Life is good... even as a blonde, I s'pose.
