Not a human baby, that is just a really good food belly, but another type of baby. She is silver and black, very smooth, extremely fast, super helpful, and although I love her dearly I must say that she isn't very hot. Do you know what it is?
It's my new Macbook Pro. And I love it with all my heart! Here are her first pictures...

I realize that it's weird that these are outside, but the hallways are so ugly, and it was tight and cramped so we went outside.

Opening it for the first time!!!

That explanation for this face: It was wrapped completely in plastic wrap, it was like opening a present!

So you want the baby story? Ok, I'll tell you.... It all started about a month ago when I realized that there was a hole in my life. There was something missing and I couldn't figure out what it was. One day I was using my laptop (an HP Pavillion) and this screen popped up.
It scared me sooo badly. I have 2 online classes that require me to record and upload videos online almost every 2 days. I use my computer for everything. Not only that, but I have so many memories and photos saved on there too. Losing a computer would not ruin everything by any means, but it would make life extremely inconvenient and sad for awhile. I had a mini break down. I sat on my bed wide-eyed wondering what I should do first. So I called my dad, sent him the picture and asked what I should do. The next hour or so was frustrating. I talked to a friend of a friend who is majoring in Computer Technology and he told me that most likely it was a hardware failure due to overheating. Awesome. I tried one last time in desperation to turn it back on. I crossed my fingers and said a prayer (I know Mormon's aren't a superstitious people, but I was just covering the bases just in case) and clicked the power button. IT WORKED! It was magic.
It made it about 1 week with nothing bad happening. But then it started to poop out on me. It would shut down and freeze and jump back while I was typing and start typing in the middle of another word. It would overheat mad fast. It was your typical breaking down computer. I got fed up and frustrated every day trying to do my homework, and so I started borrowing my neighbors computer to get my videos done. She has a Macbook Pro. And suddenly, as if struck by lightening, or, ya know, as if I just downright wanted one, I knew what the gap was. I knew what my life was missing. A Macbook Pro to call my own.
The day finally came. November 6, 2010 at approximately 3:30 pm she was officially born into this world with me as her mother. It was a beautiful scene. Want to hear about it? This is the best part.
The man that assisted me in the whole process looked exactly like Big Mike from "The Blind Side". Probably 20, 21 years old, he was a junior in college at UH. He was hilarious, and we talked to him for a long time waiting for everything to process etc. I think he might have been new because it took a long time. We were in there for probably an hour. His friend came over to verify a question, and he looked exactly like Mitchell from the show "Modern Family". Finally we got everything squared away, the Student Discount, the free printer, and I was just swiping my card when he bent way down over the counter and whispered "do you want us all to help you out?"..... I was so confused. I said "...what?" And he repeated what he said again, I was still confused. The store was pretty big and it was PACKED of customers and workers. There were people covering the entire floor. He assured me that, yes, I did want everyone to help me out. I had NO idea what this meant, so I grabbed everything and started walking out when he grabbed my shoulder and yelled in the most powerful, loud voice "HEY EVERYONE, I have an announcement to make. This is Emily, and she just bought her very first Macbook!" and the store BOOMED. Everyone started clapping and cheering as I walked all the way down the center of the store and out into the hallway of the mall. It was so loud and in the adrenaline of the moment, I turned around and held my new baby high in the air triumphantly. It was the most glorious thing of my life to date.
The closest thing I could think of comparing it to was a wedding day. Not my wedding day, mine is still yet to come. But A wedding day. Everyone kept congratulating me, it was expensive, and as I left, everyone cheered me out. And then the first night... ohhh boy the first night. I won't tell even tell you how good the first night was ;).
On the way home I was asked what I was gonna do first. Without hesitation I replied "Vacuum. I'm gonna vacuum". I realize now how weird that must have sounded. But with the stress and excitement of the new computer, I couldn't even imagine opening it without cleaning first. I wanted to sit in my clean room, on my clean bed, and open the beautifully packaged piece of heaven . I don't know how those 2 things even connect, but it still makes total sense to me.
Well, here I am sitting at my desk with my old computer and my new computer transferring files. What it takes the CrapHP 10 minutes to do, the Macbook does in less than 1 minute. It is fantastic! I'm a giddy little child with a new box of legos. I can't stop playing. I am so so happy and so grateful to have this baby. I will be a good Mom, I promise.
Life is g-M-o-A-o-C-d. A mixture of Good, and Mac.
