Daydream

I was told in one of my classes that I am very un-artistic because I don't dream and I don't daydream and I didn't create "phantasies" or imaginary friends or situations when I was a child. So today I thought I'd show the world that Emily Marie has a creative mind! As I was walking home from church I made the 6 minute walk into a 20 minute walk, taking each step as slow as possible. The hot asphault burned the nerve endings on my feet, for sure, but it was 100% worth it. It is SUCH a lovely day today. And whilst walking in the sun I daydreamed:

********

If you were here; today we would have walked home from church hand-in-hand and as slow as possible. We would have talked about only nice things, and nothing worldly. Then we would have gotten home and changed into more comfortable clothes, and gone on an even longer, even slower walk. We would have stopped at a grassy place and laid out under a tree. We’d talk about more nice things. We'd be thankful for life, and grateful that the Tsunami didn’t affect us. We would be thankful for family, and love that our parents and Kristin and Isa had all called us to make sure we were safe. We would have stayed out all day, until it started to get around 5:00. Then we’d race to our home up on the Point (in this scenario, we are rich). We’d shower, and then eat dinner, and by 6:30 we would be laying on our couch with milk and double-stuffed Oreos. No music, no TV, no phones. We’d cuddle under a blanket even though it’d be way too hot for a blanket. And we’d watch the day turn to night outside our open big-screen patio door that faces out over Bikini beach. The ceiling fan would be going and the wind would be blowng through the open windows. And we’d listen to the waves crash on the shore below, and the birds, and the frogs. Then at 8:30 we’d crawl into bed, and we’d fall asleep watching the moon-rays shine on the walls. If you were here.

Life is Good.
