mi cara

There was a huge up-roar in the Hileman Home today because I suggested that I drive somewhere.  Turns out you're not supposed to do that the same week you have surgery... my bad.  Could be worse.  I could be trying to do something stupid like breaking INTO a prison with this moron.  Anyway, I found out that my dear friend isn't feeling well, and I really want to see her.  So my sister has offered to be my chauffeur tomorrow!  I'm super excited.  I don't know how she'll feel about the shiny black hat that I'm going to make her wear, or the fact that she won't be getting paid for her services, but that's all negotiable.  For now I'm just excited to be getting out of the house!  It's only been 4 days, but boy does it feel like a lifetime!

So get ready, Colorado, this face is coming to a neighborhood near you!
Cute, no?

It's really not very bad.   I was expecting it to be super bruised and swollen.  I was planning on telling everyone I got in a fight with something awesome --

like an angry little kid at a McDonalds play-place
or a testy old grandma in a crosswalk
or a hungry hobo at a hot-dog eating competition.

-- Unfortunately the bruising isn't bad enough to warrant any of those stories.  In fact, I'm feeling much better than I was expecting!  I feel very, very lucky that everything is going so well.  My doctor, along with other friends and sources, were all telling me to prepare for the worst two weeks of my life.  Looks like those weeks are still yet to come because I'm feeling quite alright!  We'll find out just how alright I'm feeling tomorrow, after a trip to the store, a visit with Mami Meza, and an appearance at one (possibly two) wedding receptions.  HA!  What a bad idea this day is going to be....

Well, kids.  My nose is stiffer than a glass of scotch.

Time for bed.
Sweet dreams to everyone, especially to my mom, who just screamed in her sleep.  I thought the house was on fire.  It's not.  Thank goodness.

Vida es buena!
