May the first

01, May 2012
A compilation of today's events, at noon

I wake up around 4:45am for work.  You'd think that would be the bad part of the job.  It's actually not bad at all; I really enjoy watching the sunrise while I drive and while I start work.  No, 4am isn't the bad part of the job.  The bad part is that once I get to job there is absolutely no job to do.  I knew that the Host just greets you when you get to the restaurant... but did you know that's all they do?!  I'm not complaining.  Who wouldn't love to get paid to do nothing but stand there?  All I'm saying is, give me a colouring book or something.  As a result of this horribly unfortunate easy, high-paying job and it's lack of... of, oh I dunno... essence, I will be looking for a second job.  One that is outside.  And one that preferably gives me a wide array of tasks and responsibilities.  My trainers keep saying, "You're such a quick learner!!" and in my mind I reply, "I'm a host. I've been standing and smiling for 20 years".  Another thing; I know it's a natural talent because in High School when we took those job-aptitude tests,  mine told me I should be a waitress.  I'm not kidding.

Make-up no make-up make-up no make-up.  I prefer no make-up.  None at all. Zilch.  That's all.

My dad sent me a surprise package in the mail.  It was a fancy-shmansy throw pillow that reads "I smile because you're my daughter.  I laugh because there's nothing you can do about it". Dad, don't worry.  You're not laughing alone.  I'm laugh because I'm your daughter and there's nothing you can do about it either!  Gwen tells me I sound just like you. Not vocally, thank goodness I have a female voice (however I have your feet almost identically), but in conversational wit.  I guess we'll have to endure a lifetime of  puns, play-on words, and dry humour.  Are your abs ready to handle that?  Bring on the laugher!

When my Radio and AC are on simultaneously it triggers a small yet very surprisingly powerful high-pitch tone.  I don't know if it's coming from the radio... or the AC... or the radio...

I wonder if people know that I'm not really a local when I tell them "aloha" and "mahalo".  What about when I bust out in traditional Hawaiian chants?!  Huh, huh?!

I saw a sign for free Zumba tonight and realized that I still don't know what Zumba is.  But I imagine it's something like....

Yup, that's gotta be it!

I was reminded today of a quirk that one, sometimes two, of my roommates had last semester.  They would bring their computers into the bathroom with them.  I'll be darned if I cared what they did on it; watch movies, listen to music, continue plucking away at an essay, words with friends, skype?!, email.  Who knows.  Really?!  I never could understand this tradition of using the computer in the bathroom, or cyber-pooping, or the "squat and type" if you will.  I mean how short is life?  Goodness.  If I get to the point where I'm so short on time I have to upload my pictures while on the can, please, cut me short and pull the plug.

I have a solution to the world.  Not to any specific category of the world, just imply the world.  Ready for it?  ---- Free Rent.  See, I told you it was the solution!

LIFE IS GOOD!

Call me when you have a bored moment. I miss you!

I'm glad there's nothing I can do about it….not that I would anyway, of course! Glad you like the pillow; I loved your witty touché comeback, which I think is funny because Gwen's got it backwards: I sound like you. You are my hero! When I grow young I want to be like you.
